ALL CITY OFFICES ARE CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

Out of an abundance of caution surrounding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and to help curb the spread of the virus, Garden City City Hall, 21st District Court, Maplewood Community Center and the Garden City Civic Arena will be closed to the public until further notice.

City staff will continue to serve the public and conduct city business Monday-Thursday business hours via phone, email and online. For a list of City phone numbers CLICK HERE.

LATE FEES AND PENALTIES ARE BEING WAVED ON WATER BILLS DUE WHILE CITY HALL REMAINS CLOSED

Water bills and other payments to the City can be handled online at www.gardencitymi.org or by phone at 844-392-3651 for a fee. For no fee, bills can be paid by check through the drop-box on the north side of City Hall facing Block Street or by mail.   No late fees or penalties will be assessed during the City Hall closing.

21ST DISTRICT COURT

The 21st District Court is also closed to the public.  District Court payments can be made by phone by calling 734-793-1680 or by using the City’s drop-box.

PARKS AND RECREATION

All Parks and Recreation programs are suspended indefinitely.  Playground equipment and ball fields are closed until further notice.

MEALS ON WHEELS/FOOD PANTRY

Those needing the Maplewood Food Pantry may enter the Balmoral entrance of the Maplewood Community Center Tuesday-Friday from 9am-1pm. Pre-made bags will be distributed from the information desk.  Food Pantry services are available to residents and those with children enrolled in the Garden City Public Schools.  Emergency Food Commodities will be distributed on Wednesday from 9am-1pm, also to GC residents and those enrolled in the GCPS.

Meals on wheels will continue to operate.

BUILDING DEPARTMENT

Business with the Building Department will be conducted on a limited basis over the phone or by appointment.  Outside and rough inspections will continue.  All other inspections are suspended.  Call the Building Department to see which services are being performed during the closure at 734-793-1650.

DPS/WATER DEPARTMENT

The Department of Public Service Building will be closed to public but will continue to accept deliveries from vendors.

All appointments for water meter replacements or other non-essential in-home visits are suspended indefinitely.
