STATEMENT REGARDING HALLOWEEN 2020

Halloween Logo

To all Garden City residents:

Many communities and residents are beginning to discuss Halloween Trick or Treating for 2020 due to Covid-19.

Halloween is not a City sanctioned event, but rather an organic nationally recognized tradition. Other than announcing suggested hours (5:30-8:30 p.m.), and providing more police patrols, the City has no further involvement. The City has no legal authority or basis to cancel Halloween or restrict the free movement of its residents.

If your household chooses not to participate, please TURN OFF YOUR PORCH LIGHTS so that trick or treaters will know not to visit your home.

As the City does at all times, we remind you to exercise good judgement and be respectful to those around you while out with your trick or treaters.
