1. Where can I find help with the Health Insurance Marketplace?: Visit localhelp.healthcare.gov, type in your zip code, and a list of local application assisters be provided.

2. How will adults receive their dental benefits through the Healthy Michigan plan?: Dental services may be provided by the beneficiary's health plan. See your health insurance plan’s website for dentists that take your insurance.

3. Will the Healthy Michigan Plan allow me to stay with my current doctor?: Healthy Michigan Plan participants, with some limited exceptions, must enroll in a Medicaid Health Plan that will pay your doctor for your care. Check with your doctors to find out whether they participate with one of these plans.

4. I applied through MI Bridges and never heard anything back. What should I do?: If you still have not received anything after 45 days of applying for assistance, you should call 855-275-6424. Also, you can check for updates by creating/logging into your account at newmibridges.michigan.gov.

5. Can I still enroll in insurance even though open enrollment has ended?

You have 2 options based on your situation.

First, if you experience a life change, like getting married, having a baby or losing health coverage, that qualifies you for a special enrollment period, you may be able to enroll in a marketplace plan outside open enrollment. You may be asked to submit documents to prove your eligibility for a special enrollment period.

Second, through Medicaid or the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP), you can apply for free or low-cost coverage ALL YEAR. If you qualify, you can enroll now. Exception include Native American tribes and Alaska Natives. Members of federally recognized tribes and Alaska Native shareholders can enroll in marketplace coverage any time of year. They can change plans as often as once a month.

The Healthy Michigan Plan provides health care benefits to Michigan residents at a low cost so that more people can have health care coverage. Individuals are eligible for the Healthy Michigan Plan if they:

Are age 19-64 years
Have income at or below 133% of the federal poverty level* ($16,000 for a single person or $33,000 for a family of four)
Do not qualify for or are not enrolled in Medicare
Do not qualify for or are not enrolled in other Medicaid programs
Are not pregnant at the time of application
Are residents of the State of Michigan

*Eligibility for the Healthy Michigan Plan is determined through the Modified Adjusted Gross Income methodology.

8. How do I get a hold of my case worker from the Department of Health and Human Services?: If you call your caseworker and they do not answer, we always encourage people to leave a detailed message and ensure you leave all the information the case worker asks for. If you do not get a return phone call, continue to call and document the dates and times you call. If you still cannot get in contact with your caseworker you may need to contact their supervisor. Search for your assigned local office.

9. Who do I call to report abuse or neglect of a child or a vulnerable adult?
